Academic assignments, relating to gambling
Currently (since 2007) Per Binde is member of the advisory group of the Swedish Longitudinal Gambling Studies (SWELOGS), conducted by the Swedish National Institute of Public Health.
2011 Per Binde was member of examination committee at a doctoral dissertation in sociology, the subject being top prize lottery winners, University of Gotheburg.
2010 Per Binde was referee of ERC Advanced / Starting Grant project proposal, European Research Council, Brussels.
2006-2009 Per Binde was member of the reference group of a local project for counteracting problem gambling among young internet poker players, financed by the Swedish Inheritance Fund (“Syna korten: En insats mot spelmissbruk bland unga nätpokerspelare”)
2008 Per Binde was member of Program Council, 12th International Science Festival, Göteborg (Festival theme: Let’s play! Game, gamble and play).
2007 – 2008 Per Binde was expert adviser to the Swedish Inquiry on Gambling, Ministry of Finance (Spelutredningen SOU 2008:124)
2005, 2006, 2007 Per Binde was member of the jury for The National Gaming Research Essay Competition, established by the Svenska Spel (Svenska Spels forskningsstipendium).
2005 – 2009 Per Binde was member of referee panels, Economic and Social Research Council, Great Britain, assessing applications for funding within the RIGT/ESRC Research on Problem Gambling Initiative.
2005 Per Binde was member of PhD committee (bedømmelseutvalg) at a doctoral disseration in social anthropology, the subject being gambling, University of Copenhagen.
