Knowledge bank
In the course of the various
research activities an extensive knowledge bank on gambling is being
created. Currently the data base contains more than 2500 references, all
including an abstract and keywords, on gambling and related subjects;
there is also an extensive archive of press clippings from Swedish
newspapers. Contact Per Binde if you wish to commission a review of the
literature on a particular subject.
- Note: This knowledge bank is not public. A public available database of gambling
literature is the
e-library of the
Responsible Gambling Council, Canada.
Academic assignments, relating to gambling
Currently (since 2007) Per
Binde is member of expert group, the official Inquiry on Gambling,
Ministry of Finance (Spelutredningen
Fi 2007:07)
Currently (since 2007) Per
Binde is member of the steering committee of the 2008 national problem
gambling prevalence study, conducted by the
Swedish National Institute
of Public Health.
Currently (since 2006) Per
Binde is member of the reference group of a local project for
counteracting problem gambling among young internet poker players,
financed by the Swedish Inheritance Fund (“Syna korten: En insats mot
spelmissbruk bland unga nätpokerspelare”)
2008 Per Binde was
member of Program Council,
12th International Science Festival, Göteborg (Festival theme:

2006-2007
Per Binde was member of the Scientific
Committee of GREGRI
– Global Remote and E-Gambling Research Institute. The activities of
GREGRI was merged in EASG in 2007.
2005, 2006, 2007 Per Binde was member of the
jury for The National Gaming Research Essay Competition, established by
the Svenska Spel (Svenska Spels forskningsstipendium).
2005 Per Binde was member of referee panel,
Economic and Social Research Council, Great Britain, assessing
applications for funding within the RIGT/ESRC Research on Problem
Gambling Initiative.
2005 Per Binde was member of PhD
committee (bedømmelseutvalg) for a
doctoral thesis in social
anthropology, on the subject of gambling, University of Copenhagen. |
