The Gaming Board for Sweden is the authority with the task of ensuring that the Swedish gaming and gambling market is legal, safe and reliable. It also functions as a main source of knowledge about the Swedish gaming market and the developments of gaming regulation in the rest of the world.
Each year the Gambling Board issues a report on the Swedish and international gambling market. The report for 2010 has now been published (in Swedish): Spelmarknadens utveckling i Sverige och internationellt 2010.
There are many interesting things to read in this comprehensive high quality report. There are statistics on the turnaround of the Swedish gambling companies, analyses of illegal gambling in Sweden, a discussion of current trends on the gambling market and surveys of the development of gaming regulation in a selection of European as well as other countries. New this year is an in-depth section on trends in Swedish horse betting and bingo. New is also a section on problem gambling and responsible gambling issues (written by me).
