The Lotteries and Gambling Supervisory Inspection of Latvia was formed 20 years ago. This was celebrated by a seminar in Riga on December 1, 2017. The presentations at the seminar covered not only gambling and gambling regulation in Latvia, but also in Estonia and Lithuania. There were also talks by representatives from gambling companies holding licensed in Latvia. I was invited to speak about gambling advertising.
I found this seminar very interesting, because I knew little about gambling and gambling regulation in the Baltic states. Compared to all that is written in the international gambling literature about the Scandinavian countries, there is very little about the three Baltic states. True, they are small, but it is interesting to compare developments in neighboring countries that have both similarities and differences.
